We run all our surgeries by an appointment only system. Appointments can be booked by telephoning the surgery before or on the day you wish to be seen. If you would like to be able to book a doctors appointment via the internet, please speak to reception.
We try to make sure you see the doctor of your choice but if they are not available we may ask you to see another doctor.
Home visits – If you are too ill to come to the surgery and you require a visit at home, please call the surgery before 10am. The doctor may contact you first to check how urgent your call is. Home visits take up much more of a doctor’s time than a consultation in the surgery, so if you are mobile please come into the surgery to be seen.
Telephoning the doctor – Doctors are available to give advice over the phone. Please call the normal surgery number (01885 483412) and speak to reception. The receptionist will normally take your details and the doctor will call you back.
Online access – If you have registered for online access you can make an appointment by following this link and entering your log in details : http://www.patient.co.uk/patient-access. If you would like more information or would like to register for this service you can either go online at http://www.patient.co.uk/patient-access or contact reception who can arrange for you to collect unique log in details. You will be asked to provide evidence of identity to register for this service, either a passport, photo driving licence, student card or a household bill over 6 months old.
Extended Hours – Nunwell surgery now runs an extended hours service. These take place on a Monday 6:30 – 8:00 and a Saturday 9:15-11:00 (booked appointments only)
EXTENDED ACCESS – In addition to the practice’s normal opening hours, and additional surgery opening times as stated above, you can also book an appointment in the evenings or at weekends. This may be with a different GP, nurse or location than you are used to. These appointments are pre-bookable by contacting the surgery during our opening times – please as for an extended access or Taurus appointment or through NHS 111. For more information: Taurus Healthcare
Chaperone – On arrival please let Reception know if you require a chaperone to accompany you to your consultation with a clinician. The Chaperone will be either a Nurse/Health Care Assistant or a trained member of the Practice Staff.
Zero-Tolerance – We take very seriously any abusive or threatening behaviour towards our staff or patients and any patients behaving in such a way will be referred to the Zero-Tolerance Scheme or removed from our list. More information on the Patient Information tab.
