Dr Steve Scott
Dr Scott has announced his intention to retire from the Practice at the end of June 2018. We will be considering options over the next few months to ensure that the level of clinical care we provide will be maintained and will keep everyone informed of any updates. Dr Scott has been at the Practice for 24 years and will be impossible to replace but we are attempting to extract all his knowledge and wisdom before he leaves!!
Changes in our people at Nunwell….
Quite a lot has changed over the last few months so we thought it might be helpful if we did a small round up of all the changes. We have a new nurse, Hannah Draper, who joined us in November. She will work alongside Sarah Henton and Rebecca Richards as well as our health care assistants and nurse practitioner, who have been managing to cope admirably for the last year until we were able to recruit. This will complete our full complement of nursing staff. On the GP side, Dr Jenny Barnes left us at the end of December. She will be greatly missed after being here for over a couple of decades!! We had many celebrations and wish her a happy and fulfilled retirement (although Dr Barnes has not quite hung up her boots yet, she continues to train the up and coming GPs in Herefordshire). Dr Rebecca Hall also left us in November to move to a local practice but we are really pleased that Dr Jo Stanley, who was covering a maternity leave for Dr Deer, has stepped smoothly into a permanent role and will be staying with us. She will be working with us for four days each week. Dr Deer has returned following her maternity leave and the arrival of the delightful Molly and we are very pleased to have her back too. When Dr Tait retired from the partnership, we recruited a new salaried GP who has now started with us. Dr Madeleine Miller was one of our training GPs some years ago and we are very pleased to welcome her for three days each week. We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to be lucky enough to recruit to our GP vacancies when others are having difficulties.
Nunwell Surgery now runs an extended hours service. These take place on a Monday 6:30 - 8:00 and a Saturday 9:15-11:00 (booked appointments only)
